a niblet-‘ccompanying poem-gift for Dalya duSunshine, the purchaser of my last available zine in my first ever batch etsy listing! on “mermaids and addiction”
To lick the scales
Hear the clink of pearls
Divided by razor, atop
Mermaiden vanity
Mirror some people smoke
Ships to the husk
Pick their teeth with hulls
Gull-collected platinum shrapnel
Mother of pearl shotgun
Barrels of Triton’s wine
And the siren laugh (harpy breath)
As we plunge again and again
Addicted to the constellations
Of light shimmering off
Our own tails
Though we’re down
So deep in blue
