38. For @wil329 on “teething toddlers” (crossover w. First Night poem-a-day)
“Let me show you these photos of a desert sex-toy tupperware party”
While the first, early tooth is an event
And the calendrical leapfrog a reason
To become a rum-runner, remember:
Paul Revere’s lantern flashing garishly
With a gauzey red scarf to set
The bloody mood, my teeny
Trunk’s indiscrete SEX in progress
Lamp trampolines teething toddlers
Out with their parents, but the oaky notes
Of our upright bass (hip flask)
Told us not to be shy
Blanched, no green to my gills
Give me a little green room tranarchy:
Ghosts, mice, mourners in exquisite lace
The PG-13 mermaid, the silver scandal
Automaton— The new year babe
Has fruit bat teeth and bites deep!
Take it to dance on the beach with the ‘Bants
It will surely deflate 2011’s pin-up rack
In no time, the behind the scenes
Interview will show how fall-down
Tired and drunkenly hungry we are
—The key is to have faith in your saloon intuition
—Chocolate milk, you’ve got to treat yourself,
You know? There’s a lot of child-like
Compassion and queer bouts of dress-up
Scaring the babes swaddled in LED lights/wrapping
Out of the auditorium
Maybe we’ve got too much reincarnation
And drag on the docket— not enough whiskey
On our teething toddler gums
